A verdict is an official judge's decision after court proceedings. This means that your file has been dealt with by the judge and a (final) ruling has been made. The verdict states what the judge expects of you.
What are your options?
- Pay the full amount. This amount includes the original debt and court costs resulting from the court proceedings. You can pay by bank transfer, the QR code on the letter, at the Modero counter or via the Kiwi app/web application.
- Request an installment plan. If you are unable to pay the amount all at once, you can suggest a repayment plan to Modero. This can be done via the Kiwi app/web application, the QR code on your letter or invoice, by email or by phone.
- Filing an appeal or objection if you disagree with the judge's decision. This is possible under certain conditions and is subject to strict deadlines. Note: do not appeal to save time. This is because your creditor can still have the amount collected or take legal action if the judgment is enforceable “in stock” (i.e., the judgment can be executed by a bailiff immediately after service). Do you want to appeal or file an objection? Contact us for more information.
Tip: Modero includes an information sheet with each service of a judgment where the court itself explains what you can still do about your judgment. The start date of your term is in the deed you received. If you don't understand the content, please call Modero Memo to summarize the judgment in plain language or translate it into a language of your choice.
