Cost efficiency and mediation at the heart of recovery
The image of the bailiff as an inexorable bogeyman still dominates public opinion today. A bailiff is a money wolf who collects debts from the debtor at least as many extra costs as possible to pocket himself. This is the image that is only too happy to be portrayed by various media and overshadows the many solutions that bailiffs seek and find every day to help debtors as much as possible.
Cost efficiency and amicable solutions first
Journalists enjoy claims of a few euros that amount to hundreds of euros, which are often mandatory for a bailiff. Costs determined by a 1976 Royal Decree when a recovery procedure goes through the court. The bailiff therefore has no other option. However, Modero tries to find cost-effective amicable solutions as much as possible, in other words before the claim ends up before a judge.
In addition, upon receipt of each file, we calculate the debtor's SOLID score. This is a unique scoring of the debtor's solvency based on a structured, GDPR-compliant search, with which we can estimate his payment option. This allows us to take appropriate action and communicate to the debtor in an appropriate way. In doing so, we try to protect consumers against unnecessary and excessive costs associated with unpaid invoices. Moreover, we always practice our profession in good conscience and with integrity.
Mediation as a central value
Thanks to our Solid Score, we can give debtors with low to medium solvency additional opportunities to pay their outstanding claims. Bailiffs are bridge builders. We always try to reconcile the conflicting interests of all parties involved. A supplier wants to be paid for the goods or services that he has provided, but the customer can (sometimes temporarily) not be able to pay. With the help of our approved mediators, our internal mediation service and our digital mediation platform One we find the most cost-efficient solution for both parties.
Here, it is important to inform the debtor correctly and sufficiently. Barrier-lowering communication plays a key role here: clear and clear communication without legal jargon, extensive contact options and, if possible, contact in the native language. This way, the debtor understands more quickly what it is about, what to do and how to contact us for further information or additional (debt) assistance.
Relief from courts
Thanks to our approach, we find an amicable solution in 85 percent of our cases, with or without full payment or via an installment plan. This not only ensures cost efficiency for both debtor and creditor, but also relieves courts.
Modero tries to be proactive as much as possible. We can only combat the debt problem if the necessary attention is paid to preventive measures. By applying the Solid Score, we can collect money debts faster and cheaper. Contact us for more information.
