What can I do if I can't pay due to ongoing financial problems?
The answer is simple: contact us!
However, our goal is to recover debts. We don't do that at everyone and everything's expense. We are consciously reversing the logic of recovery: we do not push for procedures, but aim for an amicable solution. We start from the person behind the guilt and want to find out the “why” in the first place. That is why we invest in listening, consultation and dialogue so that we can obtain viable solutions that actually give people a perspective to regain control over their own finances. This can range from an installment plan at your own pace, guidance via Modero One or a referral to help agencies that can further support you in managing your finances.
Modero One is our internal mediation service, which primarily focuses on people with a more complex problem than just a debt problem. Together with partners, we then look for sustainable solutions that not only address the debt, but also the causes behind it. If necessary, we refer to external organizations such as OCMWs or CAWs. Modero won't let anyone go. That is customization instead of band work.
So always and first contact us. This can be done in various ways: at the counter, by phone and e-mail. Or for those who prefer online services, there is the Kiwi app (in the app store and as a web application) that gives you an overview of your outstanding debts in one click and via which you can also make an appointment. You can also scan the QR code on the letter you received and lead you to an instructional video that also allows you to make an appointment.
If you have already had contact with the CPAS, are in a debt counseling or debt mediation process, be sure to also inform your CPAS about the letter you received from us so that the social assistant can contact us to discuss further steps.
